It has barely been a week since the end of the Premier League season but clubs from all across Europe have already started negotiations with their transfer targets.
Arsene Wenger, who managed to get by the previous summer transfer window without signing an outfield player seems to have learnt his lesson after the debacles of the team in the middle of the recent domestic season.
A source close to the London club has revealed that Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Granit Xhaka is close to a move to the Emirates and Arsenal’s twitter handle went out of control instantly.
The Swiss International flew to London earlier today ahead of a medical at the club.
It was also revealed that the purchase would cost Arsenal around the £33m mark.

Xhaka to Arsenal is a good signing for them but doesn't bother me one bit. As long as Wenger manages that team not much will change.

The player has recently appeared to say goodbye to the fans at Monchengladbach and it seems that his heart was set at Arsenal even after initial talks between both parties hit a snag.
The 23-year old has played 4-seasons of regular top-flight football in the Bundesliga and is a highly rated midfield who will surely strengthen the weak midfield Arsenal had in the recently concluded season.
Xhaka is set to represent his country in the EURO16 in France having already won 40 caps for the nation and Wenger who has made him his top priority this summer did not want to take a chance of waiting till after the tournament.
An official announcement is due next week but the whole story is some great news for the Gunners who will feel they should have gone all the way in the previous season.
The likes of Mikel Arteta, Thomas Rosicky, and Mathieu Flamini are all set to leave the club this summer leaving more work for Wenger to do in the off-season.
Do you think Xhaka can take the Gunners that one step forward?
