Chelsea has not had a good season so far and though they are unbeaten since the turn of the year, it will be a very long summer for the club after the end of the season.
With no Champions League football to offer, there is a risk of losing players from the club and the first player to be linked with a move away from the club is the Belgium play-maker, Eden Hazard.
Hazard has been at the receiving end of speculations surrounding his future and he was linked to move away from the club even in the previous summer with the likes of Real Madrid interested in the 25-year old.
The Belgian has struggle at Stamford Bridge this season and is yet to score a goal in the Premier League. However, he raised the speculations about his future when he gave a statement that he will find it hard to turn down an offer from French outfit PSG.
The play maker hardly made any impact in the 2-1 loss in the first leg of the Champions league Round of 32 in Paris but is still has the reputation as one of the most exciting players in Europe.
And BT Sport pundit Harry Redknapp had his own view of the Belgian’s future.
Redknapp felt that Eden Hazard will get back to his best even if he moves away from the club and joins any of the top clubs in Europe. However, he said that Barcelona is the only team in which the 25-year old could struggle.
“Someone’s got into Hazard’s head,” Redknapp told BT Sport when asked about Hazard’s future.”
“He wants to go to PSG or Real Madrid. He could play for anybody and he is good enough.”
Barcelona are in the middle of one of their best runs of form and will surely try to get some more quality into the squad next season. However, Redknapp felt that Hazard would be wasted on the bench if he ends up at the Camp Nou next season.
“Whether he gets into Barca’s team, I doubt it with the three they have up front.”
Chelsea are a goal down but scored an important away goal in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League and 68 year old pundit felt that the English club have a great chance of knocking out one of the favorites to lift the cup.
“He’s an amazing player – they need him to perform in the second leg to stand any chance of going through.
“And I think they have a big chance.”
