Brazil lift the Copa America 2019 by beating Peru with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Everton and Richarlison.
Gabriel Jesus stood tall again as he gave an important performance to Brazil’s win by scoring a goal and assisting one.
However, he was sent off after a second yellow card was shown to him for a foul on Carlos Zambrano in the 70th minute. Brazil played with 10 men for the rest 10 minutes causing them some difficulties in defending but still managed to score one.
Brazil had struck an early goal with a great cross from Jesus from the right flank struck perfectly by Everton in the 15th minute. The first half ended 1-0 for the hosts with both sides with some great chances.
The second half began with a penalty awarded to Peru for a Thiago Silva handball. Paulo Guerrero converted it calmly to level the score. It was the first goal conceded by Brazil in this tournament.

Minutes later Gabriel Jesus struck home a perfect shot from a brilliant pass by Arthur setting him free in the box. The hosts led again with still a full half of football to play.
After Jesus being sent off in the 70th minute, Brazil still managed to score one with a penalty being awarded for a foul on Everton. Richarlison was given the chance to seal the win for Brazil and he did it in style, running with uneven speed and changing paths, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
With the game ending 3-1, Brazil won their 9th Copa America and first major title after 2007.
Peru coach Ricardo Gareca accepted the other side were the better team and had the control of the game
“It was fair that Brazil won, we had our momentum but the second goal…
“They took advantage of their opportunities.
“We came here hoping to win but they were very effective,” he added. “But looking beyond the pain of the defeat, I think we are on the right path, that is the feeling that I have.”
