Huge blow for Man Utd as target set to have his medical with Chelsea
Manchester United target Pedro Rodriguez is all set to join defening Premier League champions Chelsea FC this summer. The FC Barcelona winger was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the recent weeks, but as per reports of Marca the Spanish player is on his way to London today to have his medical with the Blues. An official confirmation will be given as soon as possible. Apparently Chelsea and Barcelona had struck a deal on Tuesday night for an initial €28m plus another €2m in add-ons which was more than Manchester United’s offer of €25m up front and up to €5m in extras.

Pedro, who became out of favour at Barcelona after the arrival of Luis Suarez and Neymar at the club wanted to leave Camp Nou for more game time from the ending of last season. The Spaniard had initially denied to sign a contract extension with the club. But later he signed a five-year-deal but it was constantly speculated in the media that the winger’s departure is imminent.
Surprisingly Chelsea were the first team who were linked Pedro, but they later subdued their interest. Manchester United were the other big club who showed interest on the player. They were in pursuit of Pedro since last month and were favourites to sign him.
But now as Marca suggests Pedro’s move to Stamford bridge is imminent. His inclusion into the Chelsea squad will be a huge boost for the team as they are yet to win a game in their title defending campaign.
