Huge Blow: Manchester United's Almost Done Deal To Be Hijacked By PSG 1

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are set to rival Manchester United as they are keen to sign Benfica winger Goncalo Guedes before the end of the transfer window.

The 20-year old is close to a move away from Benfica as reports in Portugal suggest that the player could move in a massive £26 million move this month.

Manchester United eye him as a potential replacement for Memphis Depay who had signed for Lyon earlier this week as Guedes can play on botht he wings and will provide much needed depth to the Red Devils’ roster.

Reports in Portugal have earlier suggested that he is close to a move to Old Trafford as Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira has gone to London to discuss about a move with his agent Jorge Mendes.

However, Paris Saint-Germain are the latest to join the race as the French giants are in for a late swoop and are ready to rival Manchester United in signing the young winger. PSG boss Unai Emery has confirmed the interest of the club in the Portuguese youngster.

‘All good players are of interest to PSG and Guedes is one,’ said Emery.

‘We are working on him and one we have the opportunity to sign.

‘He is a good player, capable of playing wide or in the middle. He is a player of the future who is going to grow a lot.’

PSG have already signed Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg and are ready to make a number of key additions to their squad before the end of January transfer window. They are currently third in the French league three points adrift of the league leaders Monaco and are keen to retain their league title yet again this season.

Unai Emery is ready to make some hard decisions as he looks to make a number of changes to his squad as the results have not been desirable so far in his debut season.
