Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has hinted that he will be staying with the Spanish giants for the rest of the season amid speculations of him leaving the club in January.

The 25-year old has committed his future to Los Blancos as he scored twice against Sevilla to give an impressive 3-0 win to Real Madrid in Copa Del Rey. The Colombian international was heavily linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the recent weeks as his future remained unclear at Santiago Bernabeu.

James Rodriguez has found it tough in the first half of the season as manager Zinedine Zidane which has helped rumors of him leaving the club in January. The player himself have admitted that he has offers to consider in late December which has further fueled rumors of him leaving the club.

However, the midfielder seems to have cleared the air with manager Zidane as he looks poised to play a major role in the Real Madrid campaign in the second half of the season. Los Blancos are in fine form this season as they are head and shoulders above their title rivals in the La Liga and are still going strong in Copa Del Rey and Champions League.

‘Real Madrid is the club I dreamed about,’ Rodriguez said after the match.

‘And here I am living that dream.

‘I’m where I always wanted to be. The Bernabeu chanting my name tonight was like a dream.’

James Rodriguez has been a phenomenal player for Real Madrid since joining in 2014 as he has played part in 62 goals in just 95 appearances for the Spanish side. He will be keen to add more silverware to his gallery this season before reassessing his position at the end of the season.

With James Rodriguez set to stay at Real Madrid, both Manchester United and Chelsea will need to wait until next summer to make any move for the Colombian. Chelsea meanwhile would be looking to make move for other potential midfielders as Conte is keen to add more players to his roster for the second half of the season.
