Huge: Liverpool Are Ready To Finalise This Perfect Deal With Premier League Rivals!!
According to the Mirror, Liverpool and Southampton will agree yet another deal. With Liverpool signing the likes of Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane, and Nathaniel Clyne from the Saints in recent seasons, apparently even more dealings are set to be done.
The report states that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will be making the move for centre-back Jose Fonte, who handed in a transfer request about a week ago. The report also states that Mahamadou Sakho could be moving the other way.
The Portugal international has refused to sign a new deal at St Mary’s with his future at the club seemingly over. The Saints are demanding £10m for the 33-year-old, a price Klopp may be willing to match as he looks for defensive cover.
Fonte’s vast experience and proven ability in the Premier League is thought to be a major contributing factor in Liverpool’s interest.
If he were to make the switch to Anfield, Fonte would become the fifth Southampton player to join the Reds from Southampton, after Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Sadio Mane.
Southampton manager Claude Puel confirmed this week that he is keeping Fonte out of the team until the situation is resolved, perhaps meaning that he has played his last game for the club.
“The situation for Jose is the same for the moment,” Puel said.
“I don’t comment of course on the situation of different possibilities with different clubs, but for the moment we stay with the same consideration about the situation.
This seemingly would be a good deal for both sides. Southampton wouldn’t have to come up with the full amount for Sakho, Sakho could finally leave Anfield, and Fonte could leave St Mary’s without further issues.
However, this just all seems a little too easy and too good to be true. Klopp isn’t likely to bring in another older defender, especially in this window. Don’t look for this one to get done.
