A huge boost for Liverpool as well as a very good news for the Reds’ fans has came across from ESPN FC. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could make his return to action against Manchester United on September 12, according to reports.

The talismatic striker has been on firing form since moving to Anfield from Stamford Bridge but was unfortunate with successive injuries last season. He made only 12 appearances last season for Liverpool for which Liverpool suffered a lot.

The 25 year old pacey striker has been told he can return to training in a fortnight after undergoing surgery on his torn hip muscle in the United States three months ago, the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail report.

The English international, who posted footage of himself running on his Instagram account last week, has remained in the States to continue his rehabilitation but is due to return to England this weekend.

The former Chelsea man, who last played in April, had initially been expected to return to action in October after having the operation.

The pacey and fleet footed striker has netted 40 goals for Liverpool since moving to Anfield from 66 matches and one of the most lethal striker in the Premier League and his return will be a great news for the club.

Liverpool currently have many options at the front line with new arrivals Christian Benteke and Danny Ings. Youngster Divock Origi also joined the Merseysiders after finishing his loan spell at LOSC Lille. Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli are also there but they seem to have no future at Anfield.
