Manchester United booked their ticket for the EFL Cup final against Southampton despite losing 2-1 in the second leg of the semi-final against an inspired Hull City.
The visitors began the game with a comfortable 2-0 lead from the first leg, but Tom Huddlestone’s penalty 10 minutes from half-time revived the hopes of the Tigers. The penalty looked a controversial one when Marcos Rojo was penalised for pulling the shirt of Harry Maguire from a set piece as replays clearly showed minimal contact between the two players. But the goal was a deserved one for the hosts who dominated the first 45 minutes.
However, Hull’s hopes of making an unlikely comeback were quashed by the equaliser in the second half. Oumar Niasse’s strike five minutes from regulation time set up a nervy finish but Jose Mourinho held on to book a ticket for Wembley.

First trophy won (Community Shield) and first final reached that José Mourinho could have achieved with Manchester United. Not bad at all.

Manchester United's strongest XI are making Hull City reserves look like Barcelona here.

I am shocked that a refereeing decision has gone against Manchester United. Shocked.

Josè: "We didn’t lose. It was 1-1, I only saw two goals. I saw the Pogba goal and their goal was a fantastic goal."

Pogba's gonna dab at Wembley and a lot of people are gonna get really angry about it.

As far as I can make out, Pogba is the only player wearing gloves. You've just guaranteed your team's defeat you FRENCH FRAUD. #GloveWatch
