Arsenal are set to take on Hull City in yet another key fixture as they look to build on their momentum after a slow start to their season.
However, it is not going to be an easy task for the Gunners as Hull City have shown that they are more than capable to create an upset as they are level on points with Arsenal going into the game.
The Tigers who were predicted to be fighting for relegation have started their campaign on a positive note under caretaker manager Mike Phelan as the side have claimed seven points from a possible 12 points going into the fixture.
However, Arsenal will go into the game with a lot of confidence as Hull City have managed only one point in seven Premier League games since 2008. Arsene Wenger is yet to find the balance in his team as the Londoners struggled to find ways against PSG in their 1-1 draw.
Team News:
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud could be on bench as he suffered a knock in their Champions League clash against PSG earlier this week. Ramsey who is working towards his fitness might not feature in the game as Wenger feels it is too early to push the Welshman into the team.
Gabriel Paulista is training with the squad but will not travel for the match, while Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck remains long term absentees.
Meanwhile, Hull City have taken a major blow with the injuries as six players could be missing the game. The likes of Allan McGregor, Dawson, Moses Odubajo, Alex Bruce, Greg Luer and Brian Lenihan are all ruled out due to injury.
What did the managers say?
Hull City caretaker manager Mike Phelan said: “There is a bit of belief now and hopefully we can cement our place outside the bottom area of the league. If you get in that area it can be difficult, so we have to be in the frame of mind that we can go to the next level.
“Arsenal are a fabulous team with a certain way of playing football and they challenge you all of the time in different areas of the field. We’ve conducted ourselves really well so far and we’ll be up for this challenge.”
Arsene Wenger said: “He is doing very well, he has worked in big clubs and in big competitions. He’s a real football man who has given some stability to Hull.”
