I Feel It Needs To End – Neymar On Getting Harsh Tackles
Brazil forward and captain Neymar has bashed referee Jair Muffaro and labelled his booking for simulation during Brazil’s 5-0 victory over El Salvador a lack of respect.
Neymar wasn’t too happy for the yellow card he was given for simulation.
Neymar, who is constantly getting criticised after the World Cup for falling onto the pitch too easily has come into the spotlight once again. After he appealed for a penalty against El Salvador, the referee showed yellow card instead for simulation.
And that didn’t went too well for the PSG forward. He feels disrespected and wants an end to all of this.
The 26-year old forward told Globo Esporte:
“I do not know what to do to live with this. I should not have to stand for a tackle like this. This needs to end, but it’s not up to me — so much so that I did not say anything. I just carried on with my football. It is a lack of respect. Not just with me but with my teammates as well.”
He also claimed that the yellow card he was given was totally unnecessary.
“Playing with a yellow is difficult. The guy [Muffaro] comes here to officiate a game for Brazil, which is a huge team, and he does this. I don’t feel that’s right. If he doesn’t want to give the penalty, no problem, but the card was unnecessary.”
Before getting the yellow, Neymar opened the scoring with a penalty just after four minutes. Then a brace from the new Everton sensation Richarlison and goals from Philippe Coutinho and Marquinhos completed the 5-0 thrashing.
With that, the international break comes to and. Neymar will fly back to France and feature for PSG against St-Etienne on Saturday.
