Although being linked highly with Juventus in the 2018 summer transfer window, Real Madrid left-back, Marcelo has denied all rumours and said he wants to play for Madrid till the very end.
Marcelo has committed his future to Real Madrid.
After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, rumours started to flow that Marcelo will join him too, as they have a close relationship with each other. However, Marcelo has dismissed all speculations in an interview on Wednesday. He told Real Madrid TV,
“It’s an element which is hardly worth discussing. I’m very happy at Real Madrid, it’s my home, and I’ve got many years left on my contract. I’m very happy here, it’s the best club in the world, and I always want to play for the very best. It’s good to talk about it because there are always rumours and it’s tough for me to have to continually show I want to be here and can play here. I always give it my best to be at the best club in the world. I just keep doing my job and show what I can do every year.”
He also addressed his future and assured Madrid fans he plans to see out his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I enjoy every moment of playing for Real Madrid and naturally. Lots of people hide behind social media to spread ridiculous rumours and cause problems where they don’t exist. I want to be at Madrid for many years. I’m as hungry as when I was 18 years old. I’ll be here until the end.”
The 30-year old left-back, who joined Madrid in 2007 has won three Champions League in a row now. And the Los Blancos have started off their La Liga campaign with three wins in a row.
According to the rumours, Juventus would have tried to sign Marcelo in the next transfer window again. But after the left back’s comments, the Italian club might have to change their mind.
