The defending Premier League champions Liverpool have suffered mostly this season because of a lack of experienced and quality defenders. Their main man Virgin Van Dijk picked up an injury against Everton earlier this season. Later, it was revealed that Van Dijk is out for the rest of the season.
Just a while later, their second most important defender Joe Gomez picked up an injury in the England international training and he is also out for the rest of the season. Just a couple of months later, Liverpool lost their third center back Joel Matip too. And he is out for the rest of the season as well.
Ibrahima Konate To Liverpool A Done Deal?
After losing all their first-team center backs Liverpool struggled a lot and as it stands right now, Liverpool might not be able to finish top 4 either. They tried to find some defenders in the winter transfer window and they bought Ben Davis from Preston North End and took Ozan Kabak on loan for Schalke 04 with an option to buy.
Still, Liverpool’s struggle could not be surpassed by the side as they lost six consecutive home matches in a row. They have never lost this many matches in a row before.
Seems like the Reds will be very hungry in the next transfer window as they are looking for Midfielders and Strikers as well.
As of now, there is a very strong rumor going on all around the world of football as Liverpool has managed to sign RB Leipzig’s French center back Ibrahima Konate. The medical of the 21-year-old is going on right now. However, there has been no news with any concrete evidence.
Konate is undoubtedly a very good player but he has a terrible history of injuries. And Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a strange obsession for injury-prone players for some reason. Most of the players he has bought in Liverpool so far are pretty injury prone and suffering from various injuries too. This is pretty strange that after going by such a critical time, Klopp is trying to sign another injury-prone player.
But we seriously hope Konate does not get injured ever again, wherever he plays at, he remains fit. The French U-21 international has a huge potential to be a world-class player in the future. We seriously hope the football world gets the best of him.
