Qatar won the classification match for 7-8th position 84-58 today the 3rd October 2015 in Changsha Hunan China. India had to be contented taking the last position in classification. Classified as the last team in rankings India has reason to be satisfied with their performance as they had reached quarterfinals after 12 years.
Right from the beginning Qatar dominated the game scoring 23 points as against 14 of India in the first quarter. They kept up the pressure and improved their tally to 28 as against 16 of Indian in the second quarter. The third quarter saw the almost equal fight as India scored 16 points against 18 of Qatar. Last quarter was a bit low scoring as Qatar scored 15 points and India managed to score only 12.
Indian team saw the emergence of a new player to lead the scoring in Arvind Arumugam, as he scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 Steals and 1 block making a total efficiency of 23. Bhrugvanshi also scored 7 rebounds 3 Assists. Mohamed Hassan A Mohamed had an overall efficiency of 28 points for Qatar with 28 points, 4 rebounds 6 assists and 1 Steals. A Matalkeh was the next best with 9 rebounds for Qatar.
The final of the tournament is scheduled later today between China and Philippines.
