Isco And Ronaldo Save Real! Real Madrid Player Ratings In 3-1 Victory Over Osasuna
Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid managed to get back to the top of the La Liga table on Sunday as their emphatic performance against Osasuna away from home, took them a point clear of Barcelona at the top of the table, with a couple of games in hand. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for the visitors in the 24th minute.
The home side managed to pull one back at the half-hour mark but a couple of goals from Isco and Lucas Vasquez at the other side of the break made sure that Real Madrid do not slip up this weekend. The game was marred by the injury to Osasuna right-back Tano who fractured the tibia and fibula of his right leg in a collision with Isco.
But Zidane will be a relatively happy man as his side managed to get the work done with minimal fuzz. Here are the player ratings in this 3-1 victory for Real:
Keylor Navas (7):
Made a couple of super saves to keep his side in the hunt, helping them to all three points on the night against Osasuna.
Raphael Varane (7):
Played as a part of the back three for Zidane in the game and showed great composure on the ball, helping side at both ends of the field.
Sergio Ramos (7):
With a passing accuracy of 90%, Ramos, was one of the best players on the field on the night as he dealt with everything that was thrown at him by the home side.
Made more tackles than any other player on the field as he kept the Ossasuna attack to a bare minimum for most of the game.
Gave away the possession of the ball far too often, and though he grew into the game, he picked up a nasty injury late in the game.
Luka Modric (6):
Failed to have the kind of an impact that is expected of him as he did not create a single chance of note on the night.
Was all over the Osasuna player as he put in a number of tackles, made some super interceptions, to keep Real Madrid in the hunt right till the end.
Put in a decent performance, making some dangerous runs in behind the defense, putting in a few productive crosses for his side.
Scored an opportunistic goal in the second half to get Real a goal to the good and put on a sizzling second half display, helping his side run away with the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo (8):
Missed a couple of simple chances on the night but opened the scoring and piled the pressure on the home side when needed on a productive night.
Karim Benzema (6):
Missed a sitter in the second half but set up Ronaldo’s goal and had a role in Isco’s goal, helping his side to all three points from this game.
James Rodriguez (7):
Added some much-needed impetus on the flank as Real Madrid started to pile up the pressure in the second half of the game.
Matteo Kovacic (6):
Came in too late into the game to make any kind of an impact on the score line.
Lucas Vasquez (7):
Showed his goal scoring instincts, picking up a late goal with a decent finish to take the game beyond Osasuna.
