Delhi Dynamos hold Chennaiyin FC 2-2 and stay alive in the Indian Super League. With Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa already qualified for the Play-offs and Atletico de Kolkata almost qualified, the next game between Kerala Blasters and FC Pune City decides the fourth qualifier.
Chennaiyin FC stay at the top of the table, but the game between FC Goa and Atletico de Kolkata decides the table toppers as FC Goa are now two points behind Chennaiyin FC. With this draw Atletico de Kolkata will now qualify for the Semi-finals if they dont lose by more than one goal. NorthEast United are out of the competition and Mumbai City can qualify only if the game between Kerala Blasters and FC Pune City will be a draw and Mumbai City need to beat NorthEast United with more than 11 goals. Delhi Dynamos are currently fourth in the table with 18 points.
Bruno Pelissari scored an absolute blinder early in the half and Jeje doubled it in the 28th min of the half. Delhi came back through sheer brilliance of Alessandro Del Piero and an equalizer from Hans Mulder with just two minutes remaining in the game.
Chennaiyin FC made five changes for the match as Bracigliano, Pereira, Balwant Singh, Djordjic and Nesta came in for Shilton Paul , Djemba-Djemba, Mendy, Gonzalez and Jayesh Rane. Delhi Dynamos FC made one change with injured Bruno Arias is replaced by Henrique Dinis.
Alessandro Nesta made his debut for Chennaiyin FC and Harmanjot Khabra moves to left-back while Dane Pereira starts for the first time this campaign.
Chennaiyin FC get the lead through a corner that Bruno Pelissari gets it directly into the goal. Pelissari’s inswinging corner has beaten every one and and it beats goalkeeper van Hout to find itself into the top of the far corner.
Once again it is Dos Santos who created problems to the opposition Chennaiyin early in the game. He takes a low shot but Gennaro Bracigliano comes charging out to cut the angle and block it. Mads Junker is injured in 23rd minute and has made way for Alessandro Del Piero to come in.
Chennaiyin scored their second goal in 28th minute with a fantastic finish from Jeje Lalpekhlua to make it 2-0. Balwant Singh plays a through ball to Harmanjot Khabra who gets it and plays a good low cross towards Jeje and he gets to the ball before Houben and smashes it past Van Hout to double Chennaiyin’s lead. Delhi have conceded a first half goal for the first time away from home.
Chennaiyin lead by 2 goals at the end of first half thanks to goals from Pelissari and Jeje. Chenniyin had a two goal lead and were well on course to finish as table toppers.
Delhi Dynamos came back with a goal from a magnificent Del Piero free-kick. Delhi received a free kick in a dangerous position just outside the box after being tackled by Dane and Alessandro Del Piero measures the goal and places it brilliantly in the left-hand top corner to beat Bracigliano.That’s Del Piero’s first goal in ISL.
And the Dynamos levelled the score with just two minutes remaining as Hans Mulder scored the equalizer. Dos Santos heads the ball back for Hans Mulder just outside the 18-yard boxs and he absolutely smacks it as the ball goes into the left bottom corner.
