It looks like as if Manchester United’s season is going from bad to worse. Recently striker Robin Van Persie had criticised his team mates saying they had made it difficlut for him to lead the up front of his own. After manager David Moyes was at the receiving of the Red Devils’ dismal campaign, former United midfielder Johhny Giles feels it is Robin Van Persie who has been the major thorn in the flesh for the disjointed team.

The Dutchman had said, “”Our fellow players are sometimes occupying the spaces I want to play in. And when I see that it makes it difficult for me to come to those spaces as well. “That forces me to adjust my runs, based on the position of my fellow players. Unfortunately, they’re often playing in my zones. I think that’s a shame.”

Giles literally thrashed Van Persie in the wake of United’s 0-2 reversal at the hands of Olympiakos in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 in Greece. “It can also show you Van Persie is a prat . In other words he is not at fault. Right, he’s not at fault. And I watched the game last night and he never tried a leg, Moyes can’t make him play. He should be out there playing and doing his best. That’s what all players should be doing, regardless of manager”.

Now the Mirror claims that Van Persie has apologised for his remarks and any such cracks in the United team was tries to be put on bed by out of favour striker Mexian Javier Hernandez. Chicharito posted a picture on Instagram with the caption: “Without your team-mates you can’t be somebody in football, always be thankful’.”

However, the Mexico international insisted that the message was not in any way connected to Van Persie’s views.

Chicarito had tweeted last night to confirm he has no issue with van Persie and they are focused on resurrecting the Red Devils season.

United are currently sixth on the table with 45 points, which is eleven points behind Liverpool in a race for the top four en route for a Champions League play off berth for next season.
