Jose Mourinho Begins Mind Games Ahead Of FA Cup QF Clash Against Chelsea 1

With his team set to play Chelsea in the high-voltage FA Cup quarter-final clash, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has already started the mind games.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic came off the bench to help the Red Devils came from behind to defeat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 and set up a return to Stamford Bridge for Mourinho who does not have very fond memories of the ground as his team was thrashed 4-0 by Antonio Conte’s men earlier this season.

On the other hand, the Blues advanced to quarter final with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday. The Premier League leaders are in brilliant form right now and it will take a herculean task from the Red Devils to beat them on the ground where they have not won since October 2012.

However, Mourinho said that the pressure will be more on the Blues as they will be thinking about the tie much more than United.

The Red Devils are still fighting on four fronts compared to Chelsea’s two. The Old Trafford outfit is still in the Europa League with a second leg to come against Saint Etienne, and also have the League Cup final next week apart from the Premier League and the FA Cup.

When asked of his reaction to drawing his former team, the Portuguese tactician said: “No reaction.

“I have to play Saint-Etienne, I have to play the EFL Cup final, I have to play hopefully another opponent in the Europa League. I have to fight for a top-four position in the Premier League. I have so many things to think about.

Marcus Rashford rounded Jason Steele for the equaliserHe further said:“Chelsea can only think about that [the FA Cup] because they are champions and they have nothing else to fight for. The match is in one month’s time, so I don’t want to think about it.

We’re going to fight for the FA Cup, but the League Cup is the one we have a 50 per cent possibility to win. And the next one is to get a result against St Etienne on Wednesday and be in the last 16 of the Europa League,” he added.
