Lucas Moura’s agent has claimed Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is interested in the Paris St-Germain star.
Wagner Ribeiro, the agent, revealed that the Portuguese tactician was always a fan of Lucas and wants him at the Old Trafford. Mourinho reportedly tried to sign the winger during his stint with Real Madrid. Ribeiro revealed that Mourinho even made a personal phone call to him to sign the player for the Spanish giants but nothing concrete materialised. However, according to the player’s agent, Mourinho is keen to secure the winger’s signings for the Old Trafford outfit.
Mourinho is currently using Juan Mata at the right flank but it is well known that he is not a great fan of the Spain international and so it is quite expected that he will be looking to bring a new player for that position.
Ribeiro said: “Who called Lucas Moura (at Real Madrid), who wanted Lucas Moura wasn’t Florentino (Perez), it was Mourinho.
“Mourinho was, is, passionate for Lucas Moura. So much so that now at Manchester he wants Lucas as well.”

This is not the first time the English giants are linked with the Brazil international. The Red Devils wanted the pacy winger in 2012 when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge. However, the money involved in the deal saw Paris St-Germain securing the services of the highly-rated player. The French champions paid a whooping £38million for the then 19-year old. The deal was termed ‘mad’ by Ferguson who said that paying such a huge amount for a teenager was outrageous.
Speaking about Lucas’ switch to PSG in 2012, Sir Alex said: “I find it quite amazing that a club can pay 45 million euros for a 19-year-old boy.
“When somebody’s paying that for a 19-year-old boy you have to say the game’s gone mad.”
