Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Paul Pogba’s mother is hoping for a draw when the Red Devils meet French outfit St Etienne at Old Trafford on Thursday.
The match will see world record signing Paul Pogba come against his older brother Florentin Pogba who plays as a defender for the Ligue 1 outfit.
Mourinho speaking ahead of the game has joked that both the teams want to win except for Pogba’s mum who will be a tricky situation when the sides meet.
“We spoke in a funny way, a good way,” Mourinho said.
“I think it’s a nice destiny, I think only Pogba’s mum is a little bit in trouble, which is normal. It’s difficult for the lady, it’s impossible to choose.
“I know from Paul she wants a draw but next week one son will be happy and another one will be sad.
“But I think it’s only a little problem for them. They will enjoy to play against each other. Paul is excited, Florentin the same.”
Manchester United will be favorites in the tie as the Red Devils are in incredible form over the past four months. The club have been extra ordinarily consistent across all competitions as they are only side in England that are still playing all the four competitions.
Jose Mourinho would field a strong squad against St Etienne as Manchester United eye silverware this season as they are one of the strongest teams left in Europa League. The Red Devils will also look to get into a higher position in the Premier League as they are just 2 points adrift from third position.
