Jose Mourinho Reveals The Exact Reason Why This United Star Is Not Playing 1

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s situation at Manchester United has baffled one and all. The Armenia international, who joined the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund this season in a £26.3 million deal, has made only five appearances so far despite being a former Bundesliga player of the year.

He was initially dropped from the team after he was injured, but he has now fully recovered and his absence has made everyone believe that he has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho. But the Portuguese tactician has quashed all those speculations by saying that the 27-year old has not been playing in the first team because he feels the attacking midfielder needs a ‘good game’ before becoming  a regular in the team.

Mourinho explains why Mkhitaryan doesn't even make the bench for Manchester United

Mkhtariyan, who last appeared for the Red Devils in the 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce before the international break, did not even make the bench again the last week’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal. And the United manager has said that Mkhitaryan would have found it tough to play against Arsenal and said that the midfielder  would be involved in the Europa League tie against Feyenoord.

“I told him that he is going to be involved in the game against Feyenoord,” Mourinho said. “He is trying. He is not happy but he is transforming his frustration in a good way, which is to close the mouth and work hard and try to adapt.

“I told him Arsenal was not the game for you. I don’t think he needs 10 or 20 minutes from the bench. He needs less pressure and better conditions for him to express his qualities. I think he needs a good game and he needs to either start or, if not, to come on for the second half.”

Mourinho is also confident that the former Borussia Dortmund star will make an impact sooner than later.

“I believe he will make an impact on the team very quickly as his style of play is suited to the Premier League. We are all looking forward to working with him,” he said.
