Jose Mourinho secretly meets with the agent of world class winger 1

It seems Jose Mourinho is hell bent to bring Real Madrid star Gareth Bale at Manchester United.

The forward has been linked with the Red Devils for quite some time. Former United manager David Moyes made a bid of £60 million to lure the Wales star at Old Trafford but the deal did not materialise. And ever since Mourinho has taken charge of the club, he has expressed his desire of signing Bale. And the latest media reports suggest that the Wales international can leave the Spanish capital this summer.

Bale recently signed a new contract worth a staggering £375,000-a-week

According to reports in Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, the current season will be Bale’s last with the Los Blancos. The report claimed that United have taken a major step in their pursuit of securing the services of the star player. United manager Mourinho and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward held a secret meeting with Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett last week in Manchester to discuss the possibility of a sensational transfer.

The news outlet reckons that the forward is not happy with his situation at the club and is willing to listen to offers. A few days ago, there were reports that his wage demands had caused an unrest in the Madrid dressing room. Catalan news outlet Sport reported that some senior players in the Real squad remain unconvinced by Bale’s qualities and believe he does not warrant an upgraded €17million-per-year deal. The forward is also not happy to remain in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo and reports suggest that he can force a move if he is not treated like the Portugal international.

Another factor that can help United’s cause is its connection with Adidas. The sports apparel company sponsor both United and Bale and they are interested in taking the winger to Manchester. It is also reported that the company played a vital role in securing Manchester United’s transfer of Paul Pogba from Juventus for a record £89 million. The France international is sponsored by Adidas too and the company is reportedly keen to see Pogba and Bale in the same team.

Meanwhile, the defending Uefa Champions League winners are desperate to keep Bale at Santiago Bernabeu and they are looking to extend their star player’s contract.
