Jose Mourinho has warned Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane that they can forget about signing Chelsea’s superstar Eden Hazard. In recent weeks, Zidane has come out and praised the work Hazard does on the pitch.
Zidane said: ‘I enjoy everything Hazard does on the pitch, ‘The way he carries himself; that decisive streak in him and the fact that he is improving every year.
“I think he can get better still and he’s a big reason why Chelsea are on top of the table.’
Over the years, such comments would mean that Real Madrid are closing on signing the player but with Hazard, Mourinho is fully convinced that Real Madrid cannot go behind his back and try to sign Hazard since Mourinho shares a special relationship with Real Madrid’s president and Chief Executive.
Mourinho said: ‘I trust them completely. If they want him, they get on the telephone and they call me to tell me they want him. That’s the way I feel about the president Florentino Perez and Enrique Sanchez Gonzalez [the chief executive]. It’s the way I feel about them.’
Hazard has recently signed a contract extension with the club which will keep him at Chelsea till 2020. After being pushed by the journalists, Mourinho did reveal the asking price for his Belgian Golden Boy.
Mourinho initially slapped a £100 million price tag for Hazard along with one of Real Madrid’s best three players (Ronaldo, Bale or Benzema). But moments later he turned on his comment and said since Hazard is very young so I think the price tag will be £100 million each leg, yes £100 million each leg.
These comments from Mourinho come as good as a direct refusal in selling his key player to Spanish giants. Real Madrid might want to try as hard they can feel like but till Mourinho is in charge at Chelsea, Hazard’s stay with the blues looks a long-term deal.
