Jose Mourinho Wants Title Winning Midfielder In January! 1

Jose Mourinho and Manchester United were yet against frustrated this weekend as Slaven Bilic’s West Ham managed to steal a point on their trip to the Old Trafford in the domestic league. Both teams shared a point each and will now move on to the second game between the two sides in 4 days, this time in the League Cup quarter-final.

The manager is evidently not happy with the performances of his side and has been looking at a number of star players from Europe to add his squad in January.

A few players from the squad might also be leaving and Mourinho now has his eyes set on Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

The 26-year old has been a long term servant for the Foxes and played an important role in their journey to the Premier League title last season. He is one of the most experienced defenders in the country and also earned himself a call-up for the national side recently.

Drinkwater was a part of the Manchester United academy before moving on and Jose Mourinho is now ready to make a move for him in January.

Manchester United was interested in his signature in the summer but Ranieri was not ready to let his star midfielder leave and with Leicester City qualifying for the knockout stage of the Champions League, it is hard to see the English defender make a move in January.

At 26, Drinkwater is just moving into the best years of his career and Mourinho is right in trying to lure him away from Leicester City to give him a place in the starting lineup at the Old Trafford.

He s currently charged with violent conduct is set to miss two more Premier League games before he can be back in action but Mourinho is determined to add him to his squad in January.

The likes of Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, Morgan Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera are all options for Mourinho in the midfield but with Herrera the only player showing some consistency, Drinkwater might be able to bring the balance in the squad that can help players around his excel.

The 26-year old has been in the top flight of English football for more than a couple of years and is not expected to take any time to settle into a new club in the country but Mourinho will have to meet his valuation at £30m to sign his services mid-way through the season.

John Obi Mikel is another option for the manager but Drinkwater provides a more exciting prospect ahead of the rest of the season.
