Juanfran Reveals Barcelona Interest But Insists On Staying

La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna defender Juanfran has revealed about the subject of interest from Barcelona but has insisted on continuing with his side in the near future on Monday.
“There was interest but not a formal offer,” he said.
“I knew it and Depor knew it. I’m sure there were other players too, but it also seems that Barcelona will decide not to sign me now.”
The Catalan club are looking to buy a decent right back in the upcoming summer as it is one area with Barca do not have a potential star since the departure of Dani Alves to Juventus last summer.
Juanfran, 28, have been in fine form since joining Depor on loan from Watford and has become one of the finest right backs in the league since moving back to Spain in the summer of 2015.
“My [termination] clause is eight million and I know now that the contract is a little messy,” he continued.
“To renew, I know that Depor has clauses with Watford for a number of games I play but everything is being facilitated so that I can continue here.”
He could join Depor permanently in summer as the club are keen to exercise the option as Juanfran has become one of the best right backs in the league and have been a cornerstone in the defence of Depor so far this season.
The 28-year old has insisted that he likes interest from Barcelona but has pledged to stay with Depor for many years to come.
“It is a compliment that a team like Barcelona are interested in me,” he said.
“But I can say that the season is going to end for me safely at Deportivo.
“I’ll renew and stay here for many years.
“I’m very glad that a team like Depor wants to keep me because that says that I’m doing something well.”
Meanwhile, Barcelona will look to find a new right back as they are set to invade the market next summer to have a complete squad. However, their short-term goal would be to play to their best when they meet PSG this week at Camp Nou to overturn the 4-0 deficit.
