Jurgen Klopp Eyes Move For Premier League Star Midfielder Who Has Handed In A Transfer Request 1

Senegalese winger Sadio Mane gave Liverpool their first league victory since the turn of the year as they managed to get the better of an inform Tottenham Hotspur side this weekend.

This victory coincided with the winger’s first start for the club this year and Jurgen Klopp will know if he can play his strongest line-up from now till the end of the season, then they’ll have a superb chance to finish close to the top of the table.

However, Liverpool need to improve on their squad considerably if they qualify for Europe, as the depth in the current squad will just not be enough to sustain the entire season.

This has seen the manager look at the additions to different positions in the team and there have been a number of star players linked with a move to the club recently.

One such player who is now extensively linked with a switch to Anfield is Middlesbrough midfielder, Gaston Ramirez.

The 26-year-old has been one of the most consistent players for Aitor Karanka’s side for a while now but he is reportedly unsettled at the Riverside and is in line for an exit.

Ramirez handed in a transfer request on Teesside but Boro stood their ground to retain the services of the attacking midfielder.

And Jurgen Klopp, who is an admirer of the Uruguayan star, wants to take him this summer.

Ramirez was linked with a move to the King Power in January but the deal did not go well and Liverpool are reportedly hoping to lure him in the summer transfer window.

But according to reports from Tutto Mercato Web, Liverpool are in pole position to sign their man in the summer.

The 26-year old is a decent player who has the ability to play in a number of positions in an advanced midfield role and Jurgen Klopp is hoping to add him to improve the depth in the squad.

Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Emre Can are fighting for two places ahead of Jordan Henderson in the first team while Jurgen Klopp is also looking to add another star mid-fielder to the squad who can walk into the first team.

Though the Middlesbrough man has enough potential, he is not good enough to walk into the starting XI at Anfield and will only act as an understudy.

So, he might be tempted to look elsewhere for some regular game time, but Klopp is adamant he wants him for summer.

At his age, Ramirez will surely become a better player but whether it is at Anfield is something we’ll have to wait and see.
