Outburst During Chelsea Game: Jurgen Klopp Hits Back At Mourinho For His Comments 1

The English Premier League and the journey to its summit is slowly heating up. Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are currently at the top of the Premier League table but the next 5 teams in the table are separated by just 5 points at the moment.

Arsenal and Tottenham are expected to push Chelsea to the title while Liverpool are the outsiders to go all the way. Manchester City and Manchester United have little chance of catching up with Chelsea but they are quite capable of doing so, making this season an exciting one.

With the points table this closely matches, it was bound to push out the frustrations from managers when their clubs do not get the required result and here is one such story doing the round this week.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool managed to take a point off Chelsea in the previous game in the league and the Reds were lucky to hold on to the point as Diego Costa failed to convert from the spot, late in the game.

Joel Matip seemed to have bought the striker down in the penalty box but Klopp, the character he is, believed that it was an error from the referee.

The German manager was seen screaming at the top of his voice at the 4th official on the award of the penalty and he was all over the referee after Mignolet managed to push it aside.

It was not a great viewing for the neutral and with the touchline bans going around, it looked like a mistake from Klopp, screaming at the referee. Speaking after the game, Klopp revealed that he apologized to the 4th official right after the game and that the 4th official only said that he liked his passion.

Naturally, this has not gone down well with one Jose Mourinho, who has already faced two touch-line bans this season. The Manchester United manager, in a recent interview felt that he was treated disrespectfully and felt that Klopp was treated with extra care.

“On Tuesday, one fourth official told to a manager, ‘I enjoy very much your passion, so do what you want to do,” Mourinho said, taking a dig at Klopp.

“Today I was told ‘sit down or I have to send you to the stands.’ So everything is different for me, so don’t ask me questions that put me in a difficult situation,” he added, showing his frustration.

The Manchester United manager might have been partially right but he will not be too pleased with the way Klopp got back at him.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Hull City ate the weekend, Klopp said, “I think it depends on the fourth official. We all know what we can do.

“When I saw the picture of me afterwards it didn’t look too nice but it was not as bad as it looked so that is why I said what happened.

He went on to say that he was just lucky on the night and that he is now a more improved person than he was when he was younger.

“Maybe I was lucky with what the fourth official said because I’ve never heard something like this before,” Klopp said.

“It was worse with me when I was younger. I have already improved. I had no idea why he (Mourinho) spoke about me,” he added.

Klopp refusal to go into a war of words with Mourinho will only make the Manchester United manager even madder. Do you think Mourinho was right in taking a dig at Klopp?
