Liverpool columnist John Aldridge has stated his opinion about Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp emphasizing on the point that the new coach would have familiarised with the pressure on the seat. Jurgen Klopp joined this season, after the sacking of Brendan Rodgers, but has failed to emulate his intricacy he did at Dortmund.
Liverpool are more entertaining than they were at the reign of Brendan Rodgers, but the club’s leaky defence has led them down. Recent evidence of it came in Liverpool’s last game, in which they surrendered a two-goal lead at Anfield to comparative league minnows, Sunderland.
However, the Liverpool writer has spoken of his perspective on how the team has fared.
“The problem though, time after time, is that we don’t know how to win games.” He wrote in the column. “We got out of jail against Norwich but you look at the results recently against Manchester United, Leicester, Arsenal and now Sunderland – we never make it easy for ourselves and we do not do it the easy way”
John Aldridge also spoke about the dedication of players and hailed their commitment to the club and the game.
“The players have had a lot of stick and rightly so. The organisation is awful. But one thing that you cannot deny is their work ethic. They worked their socks off and you cannot fault their commitment.” He added.
The writer also took a notice of the work done by the new coach and spoke that the German may have overcome the prejudices he had about the club, and could have realised how great the English club is.
“The manager has a big job on his hands and he realises that now. Even with our necks in front, we cannot kill off teams. Look at the Stoke game, when we were strong favourites and still needed penalties.”
Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League table, although a string of good results could turn the tide in their favour.
