As any Liverpool fan will tell you, Jurgen Klopp has completely changed the way the transfer committee works at Liverpool and has got deals done in a jiffy in this transfer window.

Recent reports stared that the Merseyside club has agreed a pre-contract to sign Bundesliga star defender from Shalke after the end of the season.

Daily Mirror reported that the Reds have agreed a deal in principle with international star Joel Matip Cameroon and it was claimed that the defender who will be a free agent at the end of the season is on a verge to a move to Liverpool.

The Liverpool manager when asked about the move denied any deal was done but the manager refused to rule out a move for the 24-year old.

“At the moment we have nothing to say,” Klopp said.

“When something is agreed we will speak about it but nothing yet, nothing else to say.”

Joel Matip is one of the star players at Shalke but is out of contract at the end of the season with the German club. He has made 22 appearances for the club where he has scored 3 goals and put in a number of crucial performances.

He was born in Bochum, Germany but has 27 caps for the Cameroon national side. He is a versatile player who can also play in the midfield and will give Klopp a number of options at the back.

Matip will surely be an upgrade on Skrtel, Gomez, Toure and Ilori and will fight it out for a place in the starting XI with Lovren and Sakho if he is able to complete the move to England.

However, it is not yet finalized and the manager Jurgen Klopp was coy over a potential deal with the 24-year-old.
