Always have Liverpool fans heard Brendan Rodgers saying that European games are a hindrance to performing well in the English Premier League. Rodgers always blamed the hectic schedule caused by Europa and Champions League as the reason for not performing well in the domestic competitions.
Now, Jurgen Klopp has taken a swipe at this very theory of Rodgers. According to Klopp, this can’t be given as an excuse.
Klopp says,”If you play Champions League, you are playing Wednesday and Saturday.”
”Where is the difference between Thursday and Sunday?”
”We have to play.We cannot rest. This has been really good.”
”We can work with this. The best training at the moment is our matches.”
”It is very intensive. It is good for physical condition and it is good to talk about after games.”
”If you think there are too many matches, stop playing at Christmas.”
”This tournament, for no team in the world, has been a problem.”
”Europa league is a great tournament and I like it.”
Klopp earlier pinpointed about the wrong usage of Nuri Sahin in Liverpool by Brendan Rodgers. Klopp criticized Brendan Rodgers over Nuri Sahin. Klopp said,”It was the wrong position for Nuri to play.”
”If you are a no. 8 or 6 and you have to play as a no. 9 or 10- it’s not possible”.
”I don’t know why Brendan Rodgers would do this,” Klopp told BBC.
