A Liverpool based journalist suggests that it is just a matter of time before Brendan Rodgers will get sacked from Liverpool.
According to Graham Beecroft, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is likely to get the axe soon an inside source has confirmed him and if he is to be trusted then Liverpool owners FSG had actually decided to sack him even before last night’s hard fought win against Carlisle United in the Capitol One Cup.
Graham Beecroft works for talkSPORT as a Liverpool correspondent, and has a long affiliation with the club having been present at both Heysel and Hillsborough disasters.
Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast quoted Beecroft: “John W Henry would have looked at that performance and thought, ‘this is not good enough and a change has to be made’, and I understand that is going to happen.
“In fact, the club board were split in what to do with Brendan Rodgers, but the power base in Boston decided before this game they were going to make the change.
“This result will simply have reinforced the fact they feel they have to do that.”
Under Brendan Rodgers’ leadership, The Reds have gained just 16 points from their past 15 Premier League fixtures. Last night against Carlisle in the Capitol One Cup, an experienced Liverpool side failed to break down a League Two outfit in the League Cup, and scraped through on penalty shootout.
It was sad, and the few remaining fans still behind the manager are quickly changing their tune – because sadly, it looks like the players no longer believe in his ideas.
But it’s unlikely that a change will be made before the Aston Villa clash Saturday.
Graham Beecroft further added: “Liverpool swiftly denied any talks with Carlo Ancelloti when the rumours became public, however you might remember Jurgen Klopp has been linked with the Liverpool job for quite some time and they’ve never issued any statement regarding that, so Liverpool fans saw that as being a little bit fishy.
“Unless something happens, whereby Ancelloti says no, that will be the only thing that will save Brendan, and even then, he would only stay in the short term.
“One thing I can tell you is that Jurgen Klopp will not be the next Liverpool manager.”
Two big names are currently associated with club. Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp are closely linked to replace Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.
It was reported earlier that FSG have already held talks with Carlo Ancelotti’s entourage and are hoping to strike a deal soon. The lack of financial ability and Champions league football means the task is quite difficult, but all parties believe that it is not impossible.
But if recent reports are to be believed then former Borussia Dortmund manager is the man leading the race. Even the fans want Jurgen Klopp at the club who had an admirable record with an inexperienced Dortmund. Klopp won 2 back to back Bundesliga with the club ending the dominance of Bayern Munich in Germany. In 2013, they had also reached the UEFA Champions League final, thumping several giants.
