Kasper Schmeichel has revealed the exact time since when he started to believe that Leicester City could lift the Premier League trophy.
At the beginning of the season, bookies made the Foxes 5000-1 to win the league and still they conquered. Schmeichel started to believed even before the season started, quite astonishing fact this is.
Leicester City were six months away from a dream day in their entire history and Kasper had returned to the squad after recovering from a broken foot.
The Sun reports the 29-year-old keeper’s statement: “When I broke my foot, I did a lot of talks to kids back home in Denmark.
“As I was going through what I would talk about as motivation, I came across a picture of myself back in 2013 or 2014 at Old Trafford, stood next to the Premier League trophy.
“One of my friends said: ‘Do you honestly think you will ever win it?’
“I said, ‘I had dreamed about it but wasn’t sure.’
“He said: ‘If you don’t believe it, it’ll never happen.’ From then on, I said I would believe it could.
“When I ended my talk I told the kids: ‘Next time you see me, I’ll have won it!’ But I didn’t think it would come this quickly!”
