Football career:
Kevin De Bruyne began his career with hometown club, KVV Drongen in 2003. Two years later, he joined Gent and moved to Genk in 2005. He rose through the ranks at Genk before being promoted to the first team squad in 2008.

He made his debut for the club’s senior team in 2009. Chances, however, did not come at a good rate that season. But in the following season, he established himself as a first-team player. As a result, Kevin scored five goals and made 16 assists in 32 league matches during the 2010–11 season, helping Genk win the league title the third time. In his first full season with Wolfsburg, De Bruyne scored 10 goals and registered an impressive 21 assists in the league. In his first season for City, he scored 16 goals across all competitions including the one against Paris Saint-Germain that sent his side to the semifinal of the Champions League for the first time.
