In what will come as a shock to most Liverpool fans, former Liverpool star Christian Benteke, who moved away from the club to Crystal Palace just this summer, rejected a big money move before his deal with French outfit Nice.
The Belgian misfit who moved to Liverpool last summer under Brendan Rodgers was one of the many mistakes by the club as he cost them £32.5m in purchase price and some more in wages having made no sizable impact on the squad.
Alan Pardew’s side had to meet the £30m asking price for the player to lure him away from the club but it is now understood that Liverpool could have had more than £30m for the Belgian.
Recent reports have suggested that Liverpool were close to making a profit on the sale of Benteke with an unnamed Chinese Super League offering the 25-year old a whooping £45m to move to Asia this summer.
However, it was revealed that Benteke still wants to play competitive football in the Premier League and that he rejected the offer, waiting for other from Premier League clubs.

According to Joe.co.uk, who say Benteke wasn’t keen on swapping Merseyside for Maoming, Mishan or Mudanjiang which shows that the player still wants to prove himself in the best league in Europe.
Benteke was a decent but from Liverpool but he was not the player Liverpool needed in the previous season and was treated unfairly for most part of the season.
He was hardly given a chance to prosper under Jurgen Klopp who later decided that he is not fit enough to find a regular place in the starting XI at the club.
Crystal Palace on the other hand will hope that they can play to his strengths and get him back to his best as he has the ability to lift the Selhurst Park outfit to the top half of the Premier League table.
Though it is good to see players reject big money moves to compete with the best, Liverpool fans will complaint that they should have off loaded him on a profit.
Do you think Klopp should have sold Benteke to one of the Chinese clubs this summer?
