Jurgen Klopp who is recently appointed as Liverpool’s new manager and succeeding former Liverpool manager Brenden Rodgers is planning to slot of £35m bring the Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 26-year-old has been frequently linked with the Premier League over the past 18th months with Arsenal or Tottenham sighted as his most likely destination but Klopp’s arrival at Anfield puts the Reds firmly in the driving seat, according to reports this morning.

The 26- year-old Gabon international has quite an impressing performance in Bundesliga. He scored 8 goals for the German giants in 10 appearances.

Aubameyang has been frequently linked with the Premier League over the past 18 months – with Arsenal or Tottenham sighted as his most likely destination – but Klopp’s arrival at Anfield puts the Reds firmly in the driving seat, according to reports this morning.

But the Gabon international is not the only player linked with Liverpool today, oh no, with Klopp having already reportedly dispatched scouts during the international break.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to use his Dortmund connections to lure striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyand to Anfield.

The Gabon International would cost Liverpool £35 million (or two Fabio Borini’s, one Joe Allen, for those still thinking in Brendan Rodgers currency).

The Sun reports that Liverpool are prepared to activate the release clause in the 26-year-old’s contract, with sources claiming the chance to link-up with Klopp again would be ‘attractive’ to the striker.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has spoken to ensure fans of Borussia Dortmund that newly appointed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will not try and re-sign any of their players.

According to Italian magazine Tutto Mercado, Watzke was quoted as saying “Jurgen would never do anything do anything to harm the interests of Borussia Dortmund. I am 100% sure of this. He would never get in touch with players behind our back.” Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan are among the names who have been linked with a switch to Anfield since Jurgen Klopp took over from Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked hours after his side drew 1-1 with Everton in the Merseyside Derby.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also sent scouts to watch Portugal Under-21 international Ruben Neves on Friday night.

Neves, 18, is a regular for Porto and is recognised as one of the most exciting young players in Portugal.

In fact, the same report goes on to claim that the defensive midfielder is well known to Liverpool’s elite player development coach Pep Lijnders, who previously worked for Porto.

As well as a defensive midfielder, Klopp appears to be in the market for a left-back as he goes in search of improving his new squad.
