Liverpool defenders wants to stay at Anfield

After new boss Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as the manager, The Reds have been pretty decent. The team’s performance has improved and the lads seem to be enjoying under Klopp’s reign. The Merseyside team is currently 9th on the Premier League standings as they face Swansea at home on Sunday. The team crushed Manchester City at their home in a mighty 1-4 win. This boosted their confidence and eventually led to another win in their next game. Liverpool defeated Bordeaux 2-1 in the Europa League and qualified for the round of 16. Things seem to be working well for the English giants.

Speaking of the players, Kolo Toure has made news lately. The Liverpool defender has stated that he wishes to continue playing at Anfield. Speaking to Liverpool Echo, Kolo said, “I’m not thinking about retiring at the end of the season.

“I want to carry on playing football. I love it, I feel fresh and I’m still working hard.

“I can go on for another four or five years! I take it year by year but as long as I feel fit, and the fans and the club are happy with me I’ll be here.

“I’ll be here for as long as the club thinks I can help. I want to do good things for Liverpool.”

Kolo plays as a centre back for the team. His style of play includes dribbling and playing short passes. Kolo loves to tackle, too. He possess a pass success rate of nearly 90% in the Europa league and that’s good for a defender.

Kolo is currently 34 and will turn 35 in March. His contract expires soon resulting in him to be without one in next summer. There has  been no talk of Liverpool offering him a new deal or extending the current one. Kolo looks forward to continue being a Red and hasn’t considered retiring despite hitting 34 already. Looks as if the defender fancies playing until 38, at least.
