Chelsea have dealt a huge blow to Manchester United over their summer transfer plans as they have hijacked their deal for the Argentine superstar, Ezequiel Lavezzi and will be looking to put the seal on the transfer over the meeting with his agent which is reportedly taking place at the moment.
Manchester United officials had flown out to Paris, only to see their offer rebuffed as Lavezzi has reportedly chosen Chelsea over Manchester United. His agent is currently in London and is looking to secure a pre contract agreement for his client with the Champions.
Lavezzi has been dismayed by the lack of opportunities afforded to him over the season as new signing Angel Di Maria has shone in the role and has displaced the striker cum winger from his customary starting spot.
He is, hence, looking to run down his contract with the Parisians, which expires in the summer, and move on to newer pastures. His pedigree in the league as well as Europe has made him a hot prospect and the fact that he will be joining on a free makes him a real hot target in the market for any team on the lookout for a new winger or even a great backup, as in the case of Chelsea and Manchester United.
The fact that Manchester United are currently struggling in attack makes this precedent a real low blow for the club as they will now have to look into the inflated transfer market for munition to their squad.
