Leicester City have reportedly made a £6.25 million bid for Cracovia’s 19-year-old Polish winger Bartosz Kapustka.
Could he be seen as a replacement for Arsenal target Riyad Mahrez?
An attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, Kapustka scored on his competitive senior debut for Poland last year. His willingness to press and work back to halt counter-attacks is certainly an impressive credibility.
The Daily Mail caims Leicester are leading the battle to sign Kaputska and hope to wrap up a deal within the next week.
And The Metro believes this could be a sign Mahrez is on his way out of the King Power Stadium and heading to the Emirates.
Arsenal are lining up a £75 million double deal that would bring Mahrez and Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates, reports The Sunday Mirror.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to bolster his attack after a lack of goals cost his team dearly in last season’s battle to be champions.
Mahrez – who has three years left on his contract with the new champions – would cost around £35 million. Apparently, the Algeria international was on Barcelona’s radar this summer, but it is thought he would prefer to stay in England.
To further add to the speculation, Mahrez was spotted taking a flight from Glasgow to London on Saturday evening.
According to talkSPORT presenter Georgie Bingham, the Algeria international was flying to the capital following Leicester City’s victory over Celtic on penalties in the International Champions Cup, along with fellow Foxes man Kasper Schmeichel.
