A youthful Liverpool team was held to a frustrating draw by a resolute League Two side Plymouth Argyle in their FA Cup third-round tie at Anfield.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made 10 changes to the starting eleven but the move backfired and his team will now have to play again with the League Two outfit. The Reds started the game emphatically and enjoyed the majority of the possession but failed to create anything substantial in the first half. Sheyi Ojo had the best chance to fire Liverpool ahead but he failed to score with a close-range header. Divock Origi had a goal disallowed when referee Paul Tierney adjudged he had fouled defender Gary Miller before scoring.
Desperate to win the match in order to avoid a replay, Klopp introduced Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino but Plymouth held on to secure a replay.
Let us see how the Twitterati reacted to the stalemate at Anfield:
Liverpool 0-0 Plymouth. What a brilliant game of football that was. The FA Cup just gets better and better.

Plymouth punish lacklustre Liverpool. Kids taken to school by the league 2 pros…a pilgrimage well worth it for the 9000 away fans…??⚽️?

Liverpool can field their youngest ever team, and disrespect the FA Cup, but it's meaningless when they can't beat Plymouth at Anfield.

Plymouth only draw against a bunch of Liverpool reserve kids.

Liverpool's starting XI today is conclusive proof that the #FACup as a meaningful competition is dead.

cannot believe #Liverpool couldn't get a goal against Plymouth, guess the bookies won that one

Other than Liverpool, FA cup seems to have got its respect back, strong line ups and full of goals
