Liverpool 0-1 Southampton: Twitter Reacts As Reds Crash Out Of EFL Cup

Liverpool’s dismal run this year continued as Southampton beat them 1-0 in the second leg of the EFL Cup semifinal to book a ticket for Wembley.
Trailing 1-0 in the tie, Jurgen Klopp’s men needed to make a strong start but it was the visitors who threatened the most. After Daniel Sturridge spurned a good chance to open the scoring, the Saints got a great chance to take the lead when Nathan Redmond went past Joel Matip before handing Dusan Tadic a brilliant opportunity to get on the scoresheet. However, Loris Karius, who had made several brilliant saves in the first leg, once again came to Liverpool’s rescue with a superb save.
The hosts upped their tempo after the break but their cause was not helped by Sturridge’s woeful finishing. The Reds also had a penalty appeal turned down when Divovk Origi tumbled under Jack Stephens’ challenge. With the game heading towards nerves in final few minutes, Shane Long put the game to the bed by scoring in the 91st minute.

#KloppOut is trending in Liverpool because people are tweeting that anyone who tweets #KloppOut, is an idiot.

Observations: Henderson & Can should never play together again. Firmino has to play central. Sturridge is finished at Liverpool. Night Reds

2 – Liverpool have lost back-to-back home games at Anfield for the first time since October 2012 (all comps). Dejected.

I said to Daniel Sturridge Do you regret missing those easy chances now? He said What do you think, James? I said I think you do.

Daniel Sturridge has moments of brilliance but is nowhere near good enough consistently to lead the line. Klopp needs a top striker
