Chelsea and Liverpool have reportedly upped their interest in Genk star Leon Bailey as the highly-rated is garnering interest from several top European clubs.
With Genk keen to keep hold of their prized asset for the ongoing season, it was very much expected that the Jamaican would not quit the Belgian club before the summer. However, English news outlet Daily Mail has claimed that AS Roma and Bayer Leverkusen have intimated that they are ready to make a £20million bid for the youngster in the ongoing transfer window.

As a result, Liverpool and Chelsea, who were willing to wait until the summer to register any bid, have been forced to make a move for the winger as they are desperate to snap up the Genk ace. Meanwhile, the report also claimed that Everton and Bournemouth and French outfit Lyon and Nice are also interested in signing the forward.
The outlet further reported that the Belgian giants are not willing to let go the Jamaican who has scored 6 goals this term but are willing to listen to offers. And if that happens, then it is very likely that the race will be mainly between Liverpool and Chelsea as Bailey has expressed his desire of playing in the Premier League.
He said: “I’ve always dreamt of the Premier League.
“But if, let’s say, Man United can’t guarantee me minutes, I will stay at Genk.
“The important thing is that in the near future there a lot of games to come.
“This is essential for me because I have to take more steps. I’ve already made a lot of progress.”
