Liverpool who have been severely hit by injuries in recent times are busy in the January Transfer Market as manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen his squad and build one that can take the club to Europe next season.

After already acquiring the signing of young Marco Grujic from Red Star, Liverpool are read to battle it out for another wonder kid from Italy who is also scouted by rivals Manchester United.

AS Roma youngster Mirko Antonucci is one of the most highly rated wingers in Europe at the moment and it is understood that the Premier League duo have made official enquiries about the player in a bid to sign him this January.

Antonucci at 16 years old is a bright talent who has not really been able to find a firs team place on the Italian side. His contract is set to expire in 2017 and it is understood that Roma are ready to cash in on him rather than letting him leave on a free transfer.

The young winger has slowly cemented his place in Italy’s U-17 squad and is willing to monitor a move away from Italy.

Reports suggest that Liverpool and Manchester United are set to battle it out for the winger against European giants Real Madrid who are also interested in bringing Antonucci to Spain.

Jurgen Klopp is clearly eager to bolster Liverpool’s academy having already signed 17-year-old Jamil Grabara from Ruch Chorzow for an initial fee of £250,000.

If the Merseyside outfit is able to land Antonucci as well, they will surely have one of the most exciting academy in Engalnd.
