Liverpool are a dominant force in September’s Premier League awards with no less than four nominations spread across three different categories.
The Reds have been in impressive form in 2016/17 amassing 16 points from their opening seven games as they look to mount a serious title challenge.
Jurgen Klopp has finally implemented his individual style upon the team and the German manager has been singled out for the Barclays manager of the month award.
Elsewhere, Adam Lallana features in the shortlist for player of the month after a sensational spell which saw him score two goals and record two assists.
For the Carling goal of the month accolade, Lallana’s perfectly executed volley features among the nominees with Jordan Henderson’s dipping long-range effort against Chelsea the other Liverpool strike to feature.
With four nominations, Liverpool look nailed on to earn at least one of the awards handed out for the month of September.
In the managerial category, Klopp faces competition from Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino, Alan Pardew and Arsene Wenger, all of whom remained unbeaten throughout the month.
Lallana, who features in two of Liverpool’s nominations, will come up against the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Son Heung-Min and Theo Walcott for the player of the month award.
The England man sadly suffered an injury in the opening stages of Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Swansea and will miss England’s World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia.
Both he and Henderson feature in the shortlist for goal of the month, the six others being:
Callum Wilson v West Brom
Steven Defour v Hull
Troy Deeney v West Ham
Granit Xhaka v Hull
Son Heung-Min v Stoke
Demarai Gray v Manchester United
Klopp’s side take on Manchester United at Anfield in their next fixture and will be keen to add another heavyweight scalp to their list after victories over both Arsenal and Chelsea already this season.
