Liverpool close to signing 22 goal attacker, deal to be announced in the next 24 hours
Recent reports linked Liverpool with a big money move for star inform player Alex Teixeira from Shaktar Donetsk and it was also understood the club chief Ian Ayre flew out to seal a deal with the youngster.
Unfortunately, the £24.5m proposed by Ian Ayre and co. weren’t quite enough for the Ukrainian club, who insisted on demanding around £39m for their top scorer.
The Ukranian outfit is currently in the United States playing a friendly tournament known as the Florida Cup along with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Corinthians.
But the rumors of a move away from Shaktar for Teixeira were fuelled this evening as it was understood that the 26 year old was not a part of the training video that was released by the club.
Texeira missed the last game due to a slightly tight hamstring injury and with him sitting out of the post match day training session, it looks Liverpool have just stuck a deal with the Ukranian outfit.
Though it is unfortunate that Teixeira pulled a hamstring just days after being linked with Liverpool, it does not look like it will stop the Reds from getting their hands on the player and it is now understood that Liverpool are ready to meet the financial requirements by the club for acquiring the player on a permanent basis.
Though the Brazilian has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Liverpool are ready to up their bid to 30 million and are understood to be favorites to land the player before the end of January.
Jurgen Klopp is searching high and low for a solution to his team’s goal scoring problems and it seems that the German has eyed the 26 year old who is in great form as the ideal player to help his team.
Teixeira is the top scorer for Shaktar with 22 goals from 15 games in the league has simply been irresistible this season but the quality of the league may not be as high as the Premier League.
But none of those seem to matter to the Merseyside outfit as it seems that they are ready to take the high priced gamble and are set to complete the move in the next 24 hours.
Can Teixeira continue his goal scoring form after his move to the Premier League?
