Liverpool have been told to forget about signing Italian young sensation Francesco Cassata by Juventus, according to reports in Italy.
The Reds were linked with a move for the 19-year old in January but the move has not materialized as the youngster continues to impress in Serie B. The Italian champions now regard him as one of the best youth players at Turin and are keen to keep hold off him.
Cassata has been impressive since the start of the season but the talks over a potential £8.5m move for the midfielder has failed after the talks broke down in winter transfer window as he eventually moved to Ascoli on loan for the reminder of the season.
According to TMW, Liverpool were told to stop all their plans in plotting a move for Cassata this summer as the Old Lady see him as a potential future prospect. The Italian champions are one of the biggest clubs in Europe when it comes to developing players and it will be tough to lure the player away from Turin.
The 19-year old has already amassed 1783 minutes of playing time this season making him one of the best young players to look in the upcoming years. However, Liverpool will need to improve their £8.5m bid if they want to stand a chance to sign him next summer.
The Reds are in need of some fresh reinforcements after their mid-season collapse as Jurgen Klopp lacked depth in his squad as they had a depressing lean patch in which they lost their way in all the competitions.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Juventus are in race to sign talented German midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud who also has a £8.5m release clause in his current contract at Borussia Monchengladbach.
