Liverpool have been offered an impressive £850,000 by Galatasaray to allow outcast Mamadou Sakho join them on a short term loan till the end of the season, according to the reports.
The French defender have not made a single appearance for Liverpool this season after falling out with manager Jurgen Klopp. Despite being an integral part of the squad last season, where he made 33 appearances for Reds across all competitions, the 26-year old’s attitude left manager Klopp unimpressed.
He was sent home from the pre season tour in the United States in August and the defender was later banished to the U-23s as Klopp asked him to prove his fitness to make a return to the first team.
A number of clubs have expressed their interest in signing the Frenchman with the likes of AC Milan and West Brom leading the race. However, Turkish giants Galatasaray are the latest to join in the pursuit of signing him.
According to AMK Sport, Galaasaray are willing to pay Liverpool as they look to make a swoop for him for the rest of the season. The move could prove good for Liverpool as the manager can have a look at the level at which Sakho would be playing for the rest of the season before making a final decision next summer.
The additional cash for the defender might lure the Reds into the deal. Meanwhile, Sakho is also keen to leave Liverpool on a short term basis to prove his mettle by playing regular football in the top flight of some other league.
The former PSG man has been at the centre of controversies this year as he has seen a huge fall back in his career and might look to move away from the club if he continues to be frozen by Klopp till the end of the season.
He has also not played an important role in the U-23s side as he clocked a mere 450 minutes in Premier League 2 so far this season and a move away to Galatasaray would benefit all the parties involved in the deal.
