Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are marching on strongly in the Premier League early this season and are currently at the top of the table, level on points with Manchester City and Arsenal in the first two spots.
The summer transfer business by the manager has been huge success so far for the club and the squad looks a lot more balanced than it has been for sometime now.
However, that has not stopped the manager from keeping an eye on players who can improve the squad and this has seen some of the best players in Europe linked with a move to Anfield.
It is clear that Jurgen Klopp will only spend on players who fit the bill at Anfield and one such player who might be a perfect suit for the Reds is Southampton defender Virgil van Djik.
Liverpool have in last couple of transfer windows added the likes of Ricky Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Sadio Mane more recently from the academy at the South Coast and have also been linked with a move for young full-back Sam McQueen recently.
So it does not come as a surprise that Liverpool want to add one of the best centerbacks in the league to their squad.

The Dutch international was snapped up by the Saints at the beginning of the last season and has been one of the most consistent players in the league in this time.
Strong and tall, Van Djik, is a proper suite to Premier League football and has been an integral part of the squad at the St Marys for the second year now.
He is a top class defender who has most attributes that can take him to a top class European outfit and though Claude Puel, the new manager at Southampton insists that Van Djik is happy at St Marys, it will be interesting to see if Southampton can keep hold of their man if and when the Reds come calling.
Wigan Athletic scout and former Premier League star Micky Quinn revealed earlier this month that Liverpool will make a bid for Djik in January and that they have been so impressed that they are even ready to meet his valuation if needed.

“I believe they’re interested in Van Dijk, when the transfer window opens up,” Quinn revealed.
“They love a Southampton player, they’ll probably go back again,” he added.
Though Liverpool’s love to the Southampton academy is well documented, it is hard to see Van Djik leave a starting XI place at Southampton to move to Liverpool and fight with the likes of Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan for a place in the starting lineup.
Do you think Liverpool need Van Djik in January?
