Liverpool target Lucas Digne wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Liverpool have had constant defensive concerns under the management of Brendan Rodgers and fans will hope the dilemma is sorted out this summer.
The Reds have already secured two defenders in the transfer window by luring right full back Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton and young central defender Joe Gomez from Charlton.
Moreover, the merseysiders are also looking to secure a player for left full back position as well and French international Lucas digne has been identified as a target.
Although, Joe Gomez has impressed at both right back and left back position during Liverpool’s pre season friendlies, they are looking for an established left back.
However, Moreno has been inconsistent as well and has no real competition to improve with Jose Enrique in the side. Lucas Digne will improve the quality and depth as far as left back position is concerned.
If reports are anything to go by then Liverpool seem set to seal the signing of $22m rated defender. Digne has mostly mostly warmed the bench with the French champions and according to Daily Mail Liverpool are looking to lure him.
Italian Sky sports journalist Guglielmo Cannavale provided confirmation from Digne’s agent that Liverpool are interested in signing the PSG star.
Digne has struggled to hold down his place in the starting XI in the French capital and has told boss Laurent Blanc that he wants to leave to find more regular football.
But ironically Digne wouldn’t be guaranteed first-team football should he move to Anfield, because the Reds shelled out £12m on Alberto Moreno just last season.
“First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave,” Blanc told L’Equipe.
“For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies.”
“This is firstly a very good thing for him and possibly for us, should he stay with us this season.”
Liverpool are very active in the transfer window so far with seven signings and are in a pole position to sign the French full back. They would do a great deal if they manage to seal the deal for Digne.
