Arguably one of the most entertaining sides in the Premier League, Liverpool, were dealt a severe blow to their progress as Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth inflicted what was just their second loss this season, pushing them 4 points away from the top of the table.
The manager will know that it was a game they should have won easily but will not look too much into the game as he missed a few key players on the night.
England international Adam Lallana came into the game only in the second half while Danny Ings, Philippe Coutinho, Joel Matip and Daniel Sturridge were all absentees.
Klopp will hope that he can get back to his full strength as quickly as possible but he was given a mixed update ahead of the game at the weekend.
The German manager took his Liverpool side for a 2-day bonding trip ahead of this game and travelled with the entire senior squad, except Danny Ings and Philippe Coutinho. The Reds were busy at the Camp Nou watching Barcelona take on Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday and Klopp will be taking a warm weather training session in Catalunya.
One other player who was missing from this trip was England international Daniel Sturridge.
The 26-year old has been absent for the last three games for Liverpool in all competitions, nursing a calf injury and though he is yet to be back in training, Liverpool are hoping that he can rejoin the squad once they are back from Spain.
However, he is not expected to start this game against West Ham.
Sadio Mane was another player who gave the Liverpool fans a scare, limping off the field late in the game against Bournemouth. However, the Senegalese winger, who was on target on the night, is back in action this week after shrugging off the injury and is also a part of the squad that flew to Spain.
He is expected to start alongside Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino, who was declared fit for the previous game even after carrying a niggle.
Adam Lallana got a few minutes under his belt at the Dean Court and is reportedly working hard to get back into action. He is fully fit and might start this game against the Hammers.
And finally In what will come as a the biggest news for the Reds, Joel Matip is declared fit for this game against West Ham.
The Cameroonian international missed the previous game after suffering an ankle injury, a problem that has troubled him in the past.
However, his injury is not too huge as he is back in training with the Reds and is expected to start the game at the weekend. He has been in sublime form and was thoroughly missed in the previous round by the Reds.
Joe Gomez and Sheyi Ojo are also nearing full fitness and remain the only other players who are doubtful for this clash.
