Liverpool could be interested in signing Fiorentina star Josip Ilicic, according to reports in the English media.
On Sunday, The Daily Express suggested Jurgen Klopp has been handed a boost in the race to sign Ilicic, after the player admitted he’d be willing to listen to offers.
The 18-year-old has been in sensational form this season, and has managed 12 goals and 6 assists in 24 league appearances. The player was, recently, asked about the rumors linking him with a move away from Fiorentina.
“It’s normal to be associated with other teams when you play for so many years in the same club,” Ilicic said.
“If we were to get a good offer in the summer, I definitely would speak with my leadership.
“In this case, we would find a solution that satisfies everyone.”
It is reported Tottenham had a £5.5million bid rejected to bring Ilicic to the Premier League last summer, but his market value should have increased after his impressive performances this season.
Though, The Express are not really reliable, and the reports appear to be dodgy. Ilicic does seem to be a good signing for most Premier League clubs, but you’d expect Liverpool to go after much bigger names after the arrival of Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have been linked with a move for Mario Gotze and Leroy Sane in the past, and Liverpool fans will certainly be disappointed if they end up with Ilicic.
